Looping Song Sections with Conductor

In this post, we’ll be discussing the loop function within Conductor and the Loop Mute plugin that’s available for free from Full Fat’s store.

Lopping Song Sections

Let’s briefly explain how the loop function works within the Conductor plugin. Conductor uses the loop brace in Ableton and sets its start and end points at the start and end of the current section.

Then by clicking on the loop button in Conductor, the plugin activates (or deactivates) the ‘Loop Switch’ in Ableton. When it’s on, the current section will loop infinitely until turned off. 

(TIP: You can also use the shortcut Shift-L to toggle the loop function on and off)

Loop Mute Plugin

This free plugin turns off the audio playback on any audio channel it’s active on when the loop function is activated. This is helpful because if you use cue or guide tracks and you want to loop a 

Put the ‘Loop Mute’ plugin on any channel you want to mute when the loop function is active. In our live set, we’ll put the plugin on both the Cue and Guide audio channels.

Now, when you turn on the loop function in Conductor, the audio playback is disabled on the Cue and Guide tracks. Turning off the loop function will re-enable these tracks.
